A Taste of France in Year 5!
This week, our school dining hall turned into a bustling French bistro as Year 5 children put their French language skills to the ultimate test. After spending time learning the essential vocabulary and etiquette for dining out, the children took part in an immersive role-play experience.
Students worked in small groups, with one being a waiter who was tasked with gathering orders from their peers before requesting the food and drink from our French expert, Madame Harvey.
On the menu were several delicious French favourites:
- Buttery Croissants
- Pain au Chocolat
- Classic Ham and Cheese Sandwiches
- Chocolate Cake
- Creamy Brie Cheese
It wasn’t just about the treats, though! It was wonderful to see the children using their speaking skills with such enthusiasm. They used correct pronunciation and remembered their manners perfectly, showing just how much they’ve learnt.
It’s a skill that will definitely come in handy for future holidays!
Bravo and well done, Year 5!
