A fun-filled week in Year 2!

What a fantastic week we’ve had in class! We kicked things off by diving into our art unit on structures, where we explored the wonderful world of clay. The children had a blast rolling, flattening, shaping, and making markings, allowing their creativity to shine through in every piece they crafted.

In addition to our artistic adventures, we thoroughly enjoyed our computer programming unit on Scratch. The students created vibrant backgrounds and engaging sprites, learning to give algorithms to their creations. It’s amazing to see their problem-solving skills develop as they bring their ideas to life!

Thursday was particularly special as we celebrated World Book Day. We listened to the enchanting story of Grandad’s Island and participated in oracy activities. The children also designed new front covers for the book, showcasing their artistic flair. A highlight was having Year 6 as our reading buddies, along with some of our wonderful parents joining in the fun.

We wrapped up the week with the World Day of Prayer on Friday, reflecting on how God can give us rest. The students created lovely sleep masks, a perfect way to end our action-packed week. Enjoy the photos capturing these memorable moments!
