Nursery News

This week in Nursery, we enjoyed listening to the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The children had great fun retelling the story and joining in with the repeated phrases, adding their own actions along the way.

We created beautiful collage faces of Goldilocks, carefully choosing and arranging different materials. During Busy Fingers, the children also used tissue paper and glue to make their own bears, showing fantastic creativity and fine motor skills.

Each morning, we began with Busy Fingers, our special time to strengthen our finger muscles. The children had great fun cutting and snipping paper, carefully balancing the bears on lolly sticks, and sorting different animals. These activities helped to develop their fine motor skills while keeping them engaged and enjoying their learning.

In RE, we continued learning about the Holy Spirit and how He guides us. We explored how the apostles described the Holy Spirit as being like the wind. To help us understand this, we made kites and enjoyed blowing bubbles in the glorious sunshine, watching how the wind helped them move and float.

In Phonics, we learnt a new phoneme – w. The children explored a range of objects beginning with this sound and enjoyed practising saying and recognising it.

In Maths, we explored the numbers within the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We focused on the number three, finding groups of three such as the three bears, three bowls, three spoons and three chairs. The children then drew their own pictures showing three of different objects.
